TALASKE | SOUND THINKING™
CONSULTANTS
Byron Harrison | Acoustics Consultant
Byron Harrison's sense of presence and composure springs from years of experience performing. As a consultant, he draws upon his personal experiences on stage to understand the needs of performers. As an acoustician, he is trained to listen critically to his surroundings — to hear the nuances of sounds in performance halls and other assembly spaces.

Byron attended the University of Hartford because its unique undergraduate program blends acoustics and music studies. For two summers he interned with TALASKE, assisting with a research project for Sauder Concert Hall, now completed and acoustically-acclaimed, and with studies of innovative orchestra risers for the Pritzker Music Pavilion. Since joining the firm in 2001, he has collaborated on projects for concert halls, theatre, university, high school and church facilities. He diligently researches scale-model testing and computer acoustic modeling techniques to develop superior acoustics in performance spaces. Byron also is advancing auralization techniques — a method of creating an acoustic rendering to listen to a space — as a design tool for major performance spaces such as Guthrie Theatre in Minneapolis and Arena Stage in Washington, DC.
